A SEASON WORTH REMEMBERING

MAUI MATERNITY PHOTOGRAPHY

If you’re coming to Maui for a babymoon, a maternity session is a beautiful way to remember this season of your life. I photograph outdoors around sunset, using natural light, movement, and simple direction to keep everything relaxed and personal. Whether we’re near the ocean, surrounded by greenery, or somewhere quiet and open, the goal is to give you photographs that bring you back to this part of your story.

Every Season Matters

Maternity photography became a natural extension of my wedding work. As couples whose weddings I photographed began growing their families, they invited me back to document what came next. It was an honor to photograph familiar faces entering a new season and helped shape what I want my business to be: not only a photographer for the wedding day, but someone my clients can return to as their lives and families continue to grow.

Maternity photography is also deeply personal, and I care about how each mother wants to be seen. Every client has poses she loves, poses that make her uncomfortable, and a different vision for celebrating her pregnancy. I listen first and build the session around that vision, whether it includes her partner, older children, or time focused entirely on her. I look for the small ways parents hold the baby, speak to one another, and take in the quiet before their family changes again.

Guided With Care

Maternity clients often have the most questions about what to wear, where to go, and how they want to be photographed. During our consultation, we talk about the poses you love, the ones that make you cringe, and how you want to see yourself in the final gallery. I provide plenty of direction because these photographs often rely on small details: where the hands rest, how the body turns, and how we bring attention to the baby while still making everything feel natural. I also check in throughout the session, make time for water or breaks, and choose locations that are comfortable to access.

I want you to wear something you feel beautiful in, whether that is a fitted dress that defines your belly or a flowing dress that moves in the ocean breeze. Because sessions take place outdoors near sunset, you should also be ready for a little sand and possibly some time in the water. Outfit changes can be included, even during shorter sessions, and select maternity packages include professional hair and makeup. While much of the session celebrates the mother, I also photograph her partner and children. One day, this baby will want to see what both parents looked like while they were waiting to meet them.

Planning Your Maternity Session

There is no single perfect point in pregnancy for maternity photographs. I have documented early pregnancy announcements when the belly was barely showing, using ultrasound images and the baby’s first clothing, as well as mothers traveling near the end of pregnancy with their doctor’s approval. Schedule your session when you feel ready and want this season remembered. If you are planning a Maui babymoon, make the session one of the main parts of your trip and schedule it near the beginning—before a week of swimming, exploring, and accidental sunburns.

Maternity sessions are available for 30 minutes at $350 or 60 minutes at $650, with additional packages available by inquiry. I provide a location gallery with real maternity-session examples to help you compare Maui beaches, Upcountry scenery, the North Shore, and other settings around the island. Wailea and the South Shore are personal favorites, and I handle the required permit for every beach location I use. Partners and children are welcome, along with meaningful items such as ultrasound photographs, letter boards, baby shoes, or a first outfit. As your Maui maternity photographer, I will help organize the details so you can focus on celebrating the family you are becoming.
