I take full responsibility for documenting the experience you’ve trusted me with-from the moments you expect to the ones that unfold naturally. That means paying attention to the connections, expressions, details, and little in-between moments, while stepping in confidently with direction whenever you need it.

Once your contract and retainer are complete, we’ll connect in person or over Zoom so I can get to know you, hear your story, and understand what matters most. From there, we’ll talk through the details—whether that’s your wedding timeline and family groups, or the location, light, wardrobe, and feel of an engagement or maternity session—so I can build a photography plan that feels thoughtful without making the experience feel staged.

I grew up around large Hispanic and Filipino families, where weddings, birthdays, and large gatherings were routine. After more than a decade living and photographing on Maui, I know the island’s changing weather, shifting light, landscapes, and local community well. I photograph Maui in a way that preserves what makes it special—the color of the ocean, the greens of the mountains, the warmth of the light, and the natural beauty that brought you here.

My approach is creative documentary with natural direction when you need it. I shoot digitally, but much of my visual inspiration comes from film—soft pastel influence, true-to-life color, movement, grain, and occasional hard flash. I’m not interested in muting Maui into something dark or colorless. Your photographs should still feel like the place, the people, and the experience you actually had.

After your wedding or session, I go through everything and hand-select the photographs that best tell the story. I tend to deliver generously because the experience is rarely about only one perfect portrait. The details matter. The people around you matter. The expressions, reactions, movement, and quieter moments matter too. Your final gallery should feel complete—not simply like a handful of highlights.

Retouching is kept intentional and natural. I’ll clean up distracting elements, remove people or objects from backgrounds when appropriate, and correct anything that unnecessarily pulls attention away from the photograph. What I won’t do is fundamentally change the people in front of my camera. If there is ever something specific you would like adjusted afterward, I’m always open to that conversation. At the end of the process, the photographs should still feel like you.

And once the photos are delivered, I hope that isn’t the end of our connection. Keep in touch. Email me if you ever have questions, or text or call when you’re coming back to Maui for an anniversary, another milestone, or simply another reason to celebrate.

FAQ

01. WHAT IS THE BOOKING PROCESS?

Once you inquire, I’ll confirm availability, answer any questions, and send over your proposal with coverage and pricing. Your date is officially reserved once the contract is signed and the required retainer is submitted.

After booking, we’ll meet in person or over Zoom to get to know each other, talk through your vision, and build a photography plan around your day.

02. WHAT IS YOUR APPROACH ON THE WEDDING DAY?

My approach is creative documentary with natural direction when you need it. I’m always watching for the candid moments, reactions, and connections happening around you, but I’ll confidently step in when it’s time for portraits, family groups, or a little guidance.

The goal is for photography to fit into your wedding, not take it over.

03. HOW DO YOU HANDLE FAMILY PHOTOS?

We plan them before the wedding. During our meeting, we’ll go through the family groupings that matter to you so we’re not figuring everything out on the spot.

On the wedding day, I’ll take the lead organizing everyone efficiently so you get the photographs that matter without spending forever standing in one place.

04. HOW MANY PHOTOS WILL WE RECEIVE, AND WHEN?

I don’t work toward a strict image count. I photograph and deliver the moments that help tell the complete story of your coverage. As a general reference, a six-hour wedding often delivers around 600 edited images, while portrait sessions typically deliver approximately 70–100 images per hour.

Wedding galleries are delivered within five weeks through a private online gallery where you can download, share, favorite, and order prints.

05. DO YOU OFFER ENGAGEMENT SESSIONS?

Yes. Engagement sessions are a great opportunity for us to work together before the wedding and for you to become comfortable in front of the camera without the pressure of a wedding timeline.

They’re also a chance to create something different from the wedding day, whether that means the beach, mountains, or somewhere meaningful to the two of you.

06. WHAT HAPPENS IF THE WEATHER CHANGES?

Maui weather can change quickly, and that’s part of photographing here. After more than a decade on the island, I’m used to working with changing light, wind, clouds, and passing rain.

If weather genuinely makes a session unsafe or impossible, we’ll communicate and determine the best next step together. For weddings, I’ll work with the conditions we’re given and coordinate with your planner and vendor team when necessary.
