Hi, I am Aaron Najera.

I’m a husband, a father to two daughters, and a photographer who has built a life on Maui.

I moved here in 2010, not to become a photographer, but to serve. My early years on the island were spent working through a local church, youth ministry, and later in social services. I learned quickly that respect, presence, and humility mattered far more than ambition or titles. Values like aloha are not something you claim. They are something you practice daily in how you treat people.

Over time, those relationships led to photography. Families I worked alongside asked me to document milestones. Weddings followed. Then referrals. What began as something I did on the side within community slowly became the work I do today.

I have been photographing weddings since 2014. For over a decade, I have documented weddings and families across Maui, often for people I already know or who were introduced through someone they trust. It is an honor to be invited into people’s lives, not just their events. I am equally grateful to be entrusted by couples visiting Maui, whether for weddings, babymoons, or meaningful moments they have chosen this place to mark in their lives.

I believe in loving others, practicing respect, and building genuine connection every day. Photography is not something I take. It is something I am invited into and something I give. When people feel at ease, seen, and understood, the photographs naturally reflect that truth.

My work focuses on honest moments, real connection, and documenting people as they are, because the strength of photographs are always rooted in the relationship behind them.

I am grateful to live here, to raise my family here, and to build a life that is intertwined with the people who trust me to tell their stories.
