MAUI ENGAGEMENT PHOTOGRAPHY
Engagement sessions on Maui are really about the connection the two of you already have. I’ll guide you into simple movement and interaction, then let you take it from there because no one knows how to make each other laugh, relax, or show affection the way you do. We start easy, and by the end, most couples are comfortable enough to forget about the camera and just be themselves together.
Comfort Comes Naturally
Nearly every couple tells me this is their first professional session, that they’re not models, or that they don’t know what to do in front of the camera. That’s completely fine. Embrace the awkwardness and just be yourselves - that’s where the best photographs begin.
I’ll start by guiding you through simple, natural movements like holding hands, walking together, and sharing a kiss so you can focus on each other instead of the camera. As the light softens and you settle in, the laughter and affection start happening on their own. That’s when I know you’re fully relaxed.
Finding Your Maui Location
As a Maui engagement photographer, I help local and visiting couples choose a location without the overwhelm. Not everyone has time to research access, permits, crowds, or how different spots photograph throughout the day. I keep it simple by helping you pick a setting that fits the experience and photos you want - whether that’s a classic beach, a garden, or a private property with lush greenery.
For golden-hour sessions I almost always recommend the beach. No two Maui sunsets are the same, and I love watching couples embrace the wind, feel the sand, and eventually step into the water. I choose locations and times that avoid the biggest crowds, then adjust angles or clean up backgrounds when needed. I also handle the required photography permits so you don’t have to.
More Than Engagement Photos
An engagement session gives you photos for save-the-dates, welcome signs, and other wedding details, but its greatest value is the experience we gain together. You get comfortable with how I guide, I learn how the two of you naturally interact, and we build rapport before the wedding day.
Sessions are available for 30 minutes at $350 or 60 minutes at $650, with travel and required permits included. Your time starts when we begin photographing and you’ll receive 70–100 edited images in an online gallery within three weeks. A one-hour engagement package with professional hair and makeup is also available. I coordinate everything with one of my trusted wedding hair-and-makeup partners.
