Valerie & Cameron’s Sugar Beach Events Wedding in Maui

Valerie and Cameron envisioned a Maui wedding filled with the people who had shaped their lives. With 114 family members and friends joining them at Sugar Beach Events, their celebration felt intimate when it needed to and became a full-on party once the reception began.

Their day moved from a private first look and personal vows to an oceanfront ceremony, Maui sunset portraits, and a packed dance floor. By the end of the night, Cameron was singing along to a Shaggy song while Valerie reached up toward him like his number-one fan at a concert, a moment that perfectly captured the energy of their celebration.

Getting Ready at Sugar Beach Events

Valerie and Cameron began their wedding day in separate spaces at Sugar Beach Events. Valerie prepared in the bridal suite with her bridesmaids while Cameron spent the early part of the afternoon upstairs with his groomsmen.

Having both sides of the wedding party onsite allowed me to move between them while photographing the finishing touches, wedding details, and candid interactions unfolding before the ceremony. With six bridesmaids, six groomsmen, and family members beginning to arrive, the property quickly shifted from a quiet preparation space into the setting for the celebration ahead.

A Private First Look and Oceanfront Ceremony

Before the ceremony, Valerie and Cameron met for a private first look and exchanged personal vows. They both expected the day to be emotional, and seeing each other beforehand gave them a few quiet minutes together before joining more than one hundred waiting guests.

Their oceanfront ceremony followed on the lawn at Sugar Beach Events. With the South Maui coastline behind them, Valerie walked down the aisle toward Cameron as their families and closest friends looked on.

Working through these combinations at the venue kept everyone nearby and allowed us to complete the larger groupings efficiently. Once the family and wedding-party photographs were finished, Valerie and Cameron could step away for a little time together.

Sugar Beach Events offers several portrait settings within a compact area, including tropical greenery, an open oceanfront lawn, and direct beach access. We moved around the property before heading to the shoreline as the evening light began to soften.

Their Maui sunset wedding portraits gave Valerie and Cameron a short pause between the ceremony and reception. Against the ocean and changing sky, we created relaxed photographs that balanced the energy of their large celebration with a few quieter moments together.
