Erick & Tiara were amazing to work with, especially when their plans had changed, due to the pandemic, and they still could produce unstoppable romance. With only one month until their wedding day, the couple inquired to work with me and luckily I was available for this date. Although there were many new restrictions to observe while gathering in groups, this determined couple continued to move forward as planned. Gladly, we were able to meet in person at the engagement shoot which allowed us to quickly break the ice. My first impression upon seeing them, was how two madly-in-love people just wanted to celebrate and showcase their love in front of all their close friends and family no matter what it took. Their wedding took place at the beautiful & celestial Maria Lanakila Catholic Church in Lahaina. They were met with a soft, light sprinkle of rain and gorgeous Hawaiian rainbow as we walked through Front Street after the ceremony for their affectionate bridal portraits.

Weddings are back at the Hyatt Regency.

I was extremely excited to hear that the Hyatt Regency in Ka'anapali was one of the first resorts on Maui to open up and allow up to one hundred guests for wedding receptions during the pandemic. The venue coordinator had properly emailed me a list of new hygiene standards and procedures to comply with in order to photograph the reception. There were temperature and wellness screenings at all the entrances, sanitizers conveniently placed throughout the resort, a limit of eight guests per reception table, and mask requirements for all. The drink bar and food buffet were very controlled and allowed lines to flow efficiently. Besides all of the new procedures, the night carried out incredibly. Upbeat, celebration music provided by Joe Cortez, the disc jockey from Next Level Entertainment, kept the wedding guests entertained all night long. CK Cinema had set up a private live stream for the bride and groom so their friends and family who had to celebrate at a distance in their homes could still enjoy.
