The rustic beauty of Makawao.
Todd and Leila originally planned to marry at the Olowalu Plantation House, one of Maui's most popular wedding venues. After COVID-19 hit, the Hawaiian islands were sent into limited options for venues and vendors. They had to make a lot of changes to their plans to avoid postponing their wedding date. With the help of their amazing wedding coordinator, Kim, from Exclusive Island Weddings, they were able to book the beautiful Ka Hale Olinda venue. Going from plans of those beach front views to a beautiful rustic, upcountry wedding vibe...it all worked out perfectly.
Upcountry Maui sunsets are magical.
The charm of Ka Hale Olinda is simple. It's an outside venue with a beautiful tree that supports a whimsical rope swing, wrapped in leaves and flowers. Just outside the reception area showcases a big open field that sets a beautiful stage for sunset views. It was the perfect ending to Todd & Leila's wedding day. Even though plans changed due to the pandemic, the nature and beauty of the island didn't. The love shared and well wishes given from masked guests still made it feel like a pre-pandemic wedding. I believe these will be memories cherished for a lifetime.
