Let’s talk about young love.


Sheri and Rowell have been together for more than 25 years, but watching them on their wedding day felt like watching two high school sweethearts falling in love for the first time. The way they looked at each other was everything, and Rowell truly could not stop smiling all night.

Their Valentine’s Day wedding at Maui Tropical Plantation in Waikapū was a heartfelt celebration surrounded by tropical greenery, family, and friends. Rowell began the ceremony by walking down the aisle and greeting their guests before sharing a special moment with his mom and dad, who had probably waited a long time to see this day.


Sheri’s granddaughters followed, filling the aisle with red and white rose petals before she made her entrance. The expressions on Sheri and Rowell’s faces when they saw each other were just too cute.

Nearly every detail carried the loving touch of their family. Sheri and her ʻohana gathered and created the lei, floral arrangements, and decorations, while friends gifted the desserts for their candy bar. The entire celebration felt like one beautiful expression of love for two people who are deeply loved.


Their children and family described Sheri and Rowell as an example of both young love and enduring love, the kind that persists, grows, and remains joyful through the years. As a Maui wedding photographer, these are the stories I love documenting: not only how a wedding looked, but the people, relationships, and meaning behind it.

I first met Sheri and Rowell at the Maui Wedding Expo 2025, and I’m so glad they reached out and invited me to photograph their long-awaited Maui Tropical Plantation wedding.
